March for the Dignity of Immigrants 4/10/06

This march took place on April 10th, 2006. 60,000 people made their voices heard, asking Governor Perdue to veto SB529. One week later, he signed it.

Student Vigil 3/27/06

Organized by the Latino Intercollegiate Consortium (which MASA is a member of) in order to protest the insensitive and uncompassionate legislation SB529. It was held at the Central Presbyterian Church across from the state capitol, and coordinated as an appeal to ask Governor Perdue to veto the bill.

Latino Intercollegiate Consortium 11/13/05

MASA's president and vice president were founders of the Latino Intercollegiate Consortium. The first meeting of the LIC took place at Georgia State, where several MASA members represented.

Rally @ the Capitol 11/25/05

This rally was organized in direct response to the anti-immigration rally that Sen. Chip Rogers held a few weeks earlier. Our main focus was to protest against and call attention to the callousness SB171, which would have denied higher education to undocumented students. SB171 was withdrawn. This rally was our first step of many.
