About MASA
MASA was founded on October 26, 2005 by 15 students from Kennesaw State University with the purpose of working toward the upliftment of our community, especially in the areas of giving a voice to the community and aiding young students in their pursuit toward higher education. Membership is open to all students of KSU, and indeed, the students who participate in MASA are a diverse group.
MASA is made up of 4 committees, including La Voz Committee, which is the political and public advocacy committee; the Education Committee, which focuses on encouraging high school students to continue their education, and helping our members to complete their goals at KSU;the Social Committee, which plans all the fun events MASA sponsors; and the Fundraising Committee, which works to raise money for future MASA events and charitable causes.
What Does it Mean to be a MASA Member?
The goal of the Mexican American Student Alliance is to be a positive force of change in our community. MASA is about unity, determination, and innovation. We are committed to volunteering, advocating, and giving of ourselves to those around us. Being a member of MASA means standing up for what we know is right and speaking out when we know that something is wrong. That is why MASA includes La Voz committee, to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. MASA is also about friendship and fun. We are open to anyone and everyone, and we love to meet new people.
